I was lucky to get a friend who had bought Guild Wars 2 and gave me a key to play this weekend as part of Guild Wars 2 wanting others to try and play the game.
Well, lucky in the sense that I didn't go and waste 60 something dollars on a game I really don't like

I loved Guild Wars, have all the expansion packs, played until I was at level 20 (which is max), explored A LOT of the map and had lots of fun getting "lost" in the world.

Guild Wars 2 Review:

Graphics are AMAZING AND NOTHING LAGS!!! It's a bit too "bright and colorful" for my liking (maybe it's because I play a lot of Diablo and Dragon Age) but still, fantastic anyways!

You basically HAVE to play with people or you die.

I like to be able to play on my own and not have to depend on people all the time, I do enjoy playing with others just, if I HAVE to, it really sucks.

For some reason, I didn't even bother really following the storyline...it's a bit long and boring to me.

Character choices....not many and not much when it comes to personalization
So yeah...I don't like this game and I'm super happy I didn't go spend money for nothing! If ever I find it in a "under 10$ bin" I may consider buying it and "fooling around with it" but I would never buy this for over 10$ which is a shame because like I said, Guild Wars was fun and I thought Guild Wars 2 would be even better....so wrong
I spend the vast majority of my time alone and seem to do alright. It does take some adjusting if you are used to the hero healers from Guild Wars, and other mechanics from similar games.
The story has some issues due to being spread over 80 levels of character progression. If you go by level you can end up with long stretches between the steps that break the story apart. I have found that doing it every 10-15 levels puts it into a nice neat package that helps me connect to it better.
anyways, the main thing that basically made the game "suck" to me was the fact that it almost has to be played with other players and that you can't hire the AI anymore to help you instead
Well, I don't think you need to play with others. I leveled my chars to the max lvl playing alone. When you're traveling through the world, you can find events and you can just join them, with people that are doing the event already. You just go to the event, do it and leave it when it's done
I imagine that if I could have joined a guild (can't with the trial version) and spent a lot of time (which I don't have a ton of being in university and single mom) exploring and finding people to do quests with, it might have been funner
Hopefully, maybe for guild wars 3, they'll fix that
